This is when I get my best work done. Everyone is asleep and I can work without interruptions. The first thing to do is make a list of the most important things to complete and make some goals. My list doesn't have to be long but needs to keep me on track. I make short term goals for the day...and longer term goals for the week. If I didn't have lists I would get nothing done because I always find an art supply that needs testing. Hope you have a fun and productive week! I started with a paperclay but I didn't like the way it looked... Moved on to a homemade clay/play dough that I like. Making little mice for a project that I love... More to come on that!
I really enjoy making things from clay. I don't have a kiln so I bounce around trying to find a good substitute. The play clay that I make works great for crafts and I can make as much as I like. I have made 10 paperclay animals and 4 clay mice. The paperclay animals are for another project now! As soon as they dry I can paint! That is when they come to life! I love crocheting granny squares... They are so easy to complete while I am watching a show.
This year I am using up some extra yarn. Last year I made a" 16th birthday'' gift. The yarn left over from a few projects will give me enough yarn to complete this one. The squares are starting to pile up and it fills my heart with joy! I am not the fastest crocheter but these only take 5-10 minutes. Amazingly fast! Have you picked a new craft for the new year? You still have time to get started. Cheers to a new year and a new craft! Looking at all the pictures I took of snow this past month filled my heart with a little bit of joy! We don't get snow often but this year we had two very good snow days! I went searching for past projects with snow as the theme. Making snow scenes and snowflakes is always fun. I hope you will enjoy this weeks winter wonderland!
Winter Memories We are creating all month long.
Join us in The Handmade Christmas. Try our Creative Christmas Advent Calendar. Christmas is the best time of year! I used 4 sticks of butter before noon!
That is kind of crazy but it is going to be a delicious dinner. I have been saving all the good stuff for Thanksgiving. The turkey smells good and the ovens are working overtime. I gotta go ... we are off to walk 4 miles before dinner.... I have to or I can't eat the 4 sticks of butter. Hope you have a wonderful day! Much love, Jennifer I have a favorite cup.
I have a favorite tea. Every morning I start the day with this simple task of making tea. I used to say no cream and sugar but now It is a necessity! Mornings are a perfect time for tea. I love the cup with the beautiful flowers. Do you have a favorite cup or mug that always starts the day with you? The granny squares are put together and finished.
I finished this in September. The best part was playing with the color combinations. I used a thicker yarn and crocheted 80 squares. I have enough to create a pillow too. Granny squares are great when I watch a movie. I can crochet and watch almost at the same time. Hope you are creating too! Jennifer |
